Summer Memories

This summer our nephews Thunder and Lightning came for a visit. We took them to the Cockrell Butterfly Center at the Houston Museum of Natural Science.

Battleship Texas

No trip to the San Jacinto Monument is complete without boarding the Battleship Texas.

And while you're there, why not fire a few rounds downrange? Emma was aiming a little low.

San Jacinto Monument

We recently toured the San Jacinto Monument, after I realized we'd never taken the kids.

After some time looking around outside, we made our way to the Observation Floor.

The reflecting pool. In the upper right is the Battleship Texas. Below is the marshland and the Lynchburg Ferry.

While Emma enjoyed her funnel cake prior to the LSU game on Thanksgiving, I caught this shot of sunset from our roost on the third deck of Kyle Field.
